Key Projects and Achievements
• As Technology Bootcamps Lead of IEEE Young Professionals, coordinated two pilot bootcamps in Columbia and India and reactivated IEEE Young Professionals affinity group of IEEE Switzerland Section in 2016
• As MGA SAC Awards Chair, streamlined all MGA Student awards nomination and evaluation processes and moved them to an online portal. The award criteria and deadlines were also streamlined for efficient global operations. Resulted in over three fold increase in global student awards participation
• Executed a major organizational rebranding as SAC Chair of IEEE Kerala Section, drastically changing the nature of activities from intangible management events to core technical ones. Resulted in IEEE Kerala Section students bagging numerous international technical awards within the next few years.
• Conceptualized and spearheaded an IEEEKerala Humanitarian student project in 2010, aimed at bringing electricity to a remote village in a thick forest, four km away from the nearest power grid; motivated a group of engineering students to apply technology to solve a humanitarian issue; this later grew into a section-wide humanitarian competition and students from Kerala found their way into international Humanitarian committees
• One of the founding members of LINK – a collaborative body of all IEEE Student Branches (SB’s) in Kerala Section; this model was later adopted by IEEE Asia Pacific Region (R10)
• Initiated a study on student retention patterns in IEEE Kerala Section and handed over the findings to MGA for appropriate actions
• As mentor of IEEE SB College of Engineering, Chengannur, played a key role in the IEEE 125th Anniversary R10 Student Congress which was a one of a kind event organized by student branches in two different countries.
